Here's the Fit from our latest shoot. The original plan was to do a dope shoot in Chinatown but of course we ended up wandering our way over to Soho, oh well. The concept behind the whole fit is urban skater, with a hint of Cali swag. Although the main piece might seem like the tan suede kicks, It's the multi-colored tribal print socks that hold it all together . These Vans Sk8 Hi's are my latest kick pick-ups, after what seems like forever! I fell in love the moment I saw them that faithful day *insert heart eyes emoji*. I am the biggest fan of suede shoes and this "Hiker Tan" color, that clearly had Timberland inspiration, was perfect for me. Since I had no ring to marry these babies, all I could was purchase them and leave. Details such as the boot laces and black leather Vans (loopy line?) added to, and contrasted against the shoe exquisitely. Once they were home I saw how DOPE they look with my Stance tribal socks and knew they demanded to be together. Up top I kept the black and red from the socks with my leather brim Crooks & Castles strapback. Why not add MORE leather with my Call It Spring Medford backpack. Then, it was a must to have the black and red graphic tee. I enlisted my super rad (yeah, I say rad sometimes) tee I copped from Hottopic a while ago. I must say, I made some noise with A TIGER on my chest...nuff said. My go to dope tee that even got me a few compliments from, the ladies. *insert purring sounds*
The Weeknds new video is full of mystery, murder, and a stylish marauding. An artistic vision to say the least. Abel Tesfaye or better known Monday through Sunday as, The Weeknd, just dropped a video for his track "Tell Your Friends", and I am doing just that. He already has pop chart hitters like "Earned It" and "Cant Feel My Face" under his belt but this new release doesn't seem to follow that same route. It's a lot more soulful, and sort of sultry. By no means is it identical to the "old" Weeknd. The edgy, hypnotic underground sound that he brought with "Wicked Games" or the terrifying yet captivating "Initiation" (If you haven't heard it, listen to it tonight, by yourself, with the lights off and I promise you'll hate me for a few nights.) However, it has the familiar lyrical substance that gives a nod to that "old" Weeknd feel. The video itself is very interesting and definitely has a 2007 Kanye West "Cant Tell Me Nothing" vibe. No surprise, since Ye produced the song. To avoid spoilers all I will say is that this video has two or three scenes that I loved. One scene in particular, was very symbolic of Mr. Tesfaye leaving something in his life dead and buried. Check out the video and let me know what you think. Do you like The Weeknd side-stepping a bit from his mainstream pop onslaught or does it fit him better as an artist? Excuse me cheesing, but it was an honor to meet the Super Dapper and hilarious Terry Crews. Incredibly, his exquisite physical and stylish caliber were overshadowed by his genuine personality and character. He displayed the essence of what I believe a role model should be. He spoke on the matter of women empowerment and he presented his criticism of pride and its affects, which he referred to as "The Cult of Masculinity". Filling us with emotions across the spectrum and relating to us his mistakes and struggles to ensure we know the value we are worth, cannot, be bargained or manipulated out of us. We are all precious and equal, both man and woman. So we must choose PEACE > PRIDE. The FITAlthough, the Millennium Campus Conference week was mentally and spiritually empowering, It had taken its toll physically. I welcomed Friday openly to relax, throw off the suits and get casual. In the spirit of denim Fridays, it was a must that I show off the iconic fabric, but as usual with a little twist. I decided to move it up a spot with a nice, light-weight Forever21 denim button up. It was a perfect piece because it was little-to-no maintenance. It looked great pressed and even better wrinkled! While I decided to go casual with the slightly wrinkled denim shirt, I knew I still needed to keep up with the prestigious atmosphere of the The United Nations. I tucked the shirt into some Banana Republic khakis that I made sure were ironed with precision to balance the outfit. Then cuffed to keep me cool on the sunny NYC day and add a modern aesthetic. Finally, I finished with my most trusted dressy-casual, suede Coach shoes. The entire fit was rugged yet polished. Great for celebrating a fantastic week of meeting, networking and connecting with deep, positive people interested in helping the world. I hope to cross paths with many of them long into the future because they were all truly special. So until MCC'16...#SidekicksUNite! |
Adeyemi "Patrick"I was never a stranger to being well dressed. It was an art for me that I loved to share, everyday. I admired all the menswear bloggers I saw on Instagram. (Especially Denny Belmacada, who came from my hometown, Jersey City) But after having friends say I seemed to always be on point, as if I had style for days, I began to wonder. I wondered if my friends were right. I compared myself to these bloggers and thought, why cant I also be an inspiration to others. So I set out on this (365fits) project/journey. I wanted to challenge myself, pass along inspiration and insight, all while helping everyone find what it means for fashion to fit you! MORE POSTS COMING SOON...WE PROMISE!ArchivesCategories
